1890 Manzanos Rosé
D.O.Ca Rioja (Spain)
Wine making process
Our grenache has been oak fermented for three months to achieve the structure and volumen that we were looking for without a wood taste. We wanted to get a round volumen but we did not want the influence of wood in the aroma, so we could preserve the aromatic splendour of the grenache and did not get the oak nuances in the palate. We have pressed the grape and macerate with the pulp for two days, then we have cleared the must and fermented in vat and we have divided the wine in two parts. The first one has been in second and third month french oak. And the second has been in concrete vats.
Terroir
To produce this unique Rosé 1890 Manzanos, we use grapes from our vineyards The Jubero, located near Ribafrecha at an altitude of between 1967 and 2297 ft. It is a Grenache grown in a vineyard of three foots planted twice, the first plantation is 40 years old and the second 35 years old.
