Siglo Gran Reserva

D.O.Ca Rioja (Spain)

Wine making process

Harvesting is done at dawn for grapes selected for their balance between freshness, structure and ripeness. Manual harvest in pallets and trailers. Fermentation at 28oC in concrete tanks, 20 days of maceration and 4-5 daily manual pumping over. Malolactic fermentation in concrete and subsequent aging in French and American barrels for 36 months. Subsequent resting in concrete tanks and bottle rack.

This wine is the result of a blend of vineyards in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Oriental areas: iñedos de Haro, Tempranillo vineyards in goblet-trained vines over 50 years old with whitish and poor soils, of clay-calcareous composition, most of them with a sun-facing orientation, its altitude is around 750 meters. “Los Quiñones” is our oldest Garnacha vineyard planted in 1978 on the slopes of Yerga in Aldeanueva de Ebro at an altitude of over 500 meters with clay-ferrous soil.

Tile red color of medium intensity.

The nose is elegant with aromas of licorice, dried fruit, roasted coffee and cocoa.
