What a U.S. buyer needs to import Spanish wine
Importing wine into the United States is regulated at the federal and state level. These are the pieces, and who holds them when you work with us:
Federal importer's permit and label approval
Bringing wine into the U.S. requires a federal Importer's Basic Permit from the TTB, and each label needs a Certificate of Label Approval (COLA). Manzanos Wines USA holds the permit and manages label approvals for the whole portfolio.
State registration and the three-tier system
Wine is sold through licensed distributors under each state's rules. Our wines are registered through distributor partners state by state, which is how they reach retailers and restaurants in all 50 states.
Customs, shipping and inventory
The wines clear customs into our U.S. warehouse. Distributors and retailers buy domestic stock by the case, with no ocean freight, no customs broker and no minimum container volume on their side.

- Do I need my own import license to buy Spanish wine for my store or restaurant?
- No. When you buy through a licensed importer and its distributor network, the federal permit, label approvals and state registrations are already in place. You place a domestic order by the case, like with any local supplier.
